Pike County Arrest History
Pike County arrest records can begin with several agencies. The Sheriff's Office handles unincorporated incidents and runs Pike County Jail. Troy Police and Brundidge Police make city arrests. Troy also operates a 16-bed city jail, so a recent Troy arrest can remain outside the county roster until transfer. No separate Goshen police or court record layer was verified, making the sheriff the local starting point there. ALEA troopers, Troy University Police, the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles, and other agencies may also book people into the county jail. The arresting agency shown on the booking card is the key to finding the incident or arrest narrative.
A booking entry records intake and custody. It does not show the whole arrest history or prove a conviction. Pike County Jail creates a separate booking record after a custodial arrest. Fingerprints and arrest-event data can then flow through Alabama's criminal-justice network to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The court creates another record if charges are filed. Each source answers a different question.
Reading Pike's Live Booking Card
The official Pike County current inmate search accepts a keyword and supports sort or date behavior. The live interface does not publish exact-match rules or offer a fielded advanced search. A missing result means only that the person does not appear in the current feed. Release, transfer, custody elsewhere, or no county booking can each explain the gap.
The search design shows why a keyword is just a starting point. The booking number and arrest agency help match a result to the right report and court.
The live cards can display a booking number, booking date and time, age, height, weight, hair color, gender, race, arrest agency, charge descriptions, per-charge bond, and a booking image. They do not show a court case number, judge, court date, final charge, sentence, or disposition. Those omissions keep the card in its proper role as a custody and allegation record.
Looking Up Pike County Arrests
Every official channel should be checked in a useful order. Start with live county custody, then look for a recent release. Use the agency label to request the report. Follow the event into the proper court, and use a fingerprint review only for your own statewide Alabama history. No unrestricted public ALEA name search exists.
- Search the Pike County inmate roster by name or keyword and note the booking number, date, arrest agency, charge label, and bond.
- Check the recent-release feed if the current roster is blank, while treating release as a custody change rather than a case outcome.
- Request the incident or arrest narrative from the agency named on the booking card, using the date, place, report number, and event details.
- Check Troy or Brundidge Municipal Court for their city misdemeanors, Pike County District Court for outside-city misdemeanors and felony beginnings, and Pike County Circuit Court after felony indictment.
- For an older statewide self-review, submit ALEA CJIS Form 46 with fingerprints, identification, and the official fee, then challenge errors through ALEA and the reporting source.
The official Pike County inmate data feed is a direct custody-data view. Court disposition must be checked through the clerk or the paid state court service.
Find Pike Arresting Agency First
The jail is not always the custodian of the report behind a Pike County arrest. If the event occurred in unincorporated Pike County, the Sheriff's Office is the starting point. A Troy event belongs with Troy Police, and a Brundidge event belongs with Brundidge Police. ALEA keeps its own trooper and state records. Troy University Police is separate from the city police department.
The Pike County sheriff site has no general report-copy portal, no posted fee table, and no downloadable open-records form. Inside a Pike County Arrest Record
A Pike County booking card has useful match fields, but each has limits. The booking number identifies the jail intake. The agency field points to the office that created the underlying report. Charge and bond rows state what was entered at booking, not what a prosecutor later files. The public card can include a booking image, but this is not an arrest gallery and no arrestee names or photos are republished here.
| Booking Number | A six-digit local intake identifier was observed in the official Pike feed. |
|---|---|
| Booking Date and Time | Shows month, day, year, time, and am or pm for county jail intake. |
| Arresting Agency | Names the sheriff, police, state, campus, parole, or other agency tied to the booking. |
| Charges | Lists one or more booking allegations, which can later change in court. |
| Bond | Shows an amount for each charge or N/A when no monetary amount is posted. |
| Booking Image | A public intake image may be displayed on the official card. |
| Release Status | The separate release feed gives a release time but not the reason or case outcome. |
Pike Release Does Not Mean Dismissed
The official Pike County recent-release feed can explain why a booking no longer appears among current inmates. It lists a release date and time with booking and descriptive fields. It does not say whether bond was posted, charges remain pending, a transfer occurred, or the prosecution ended.
The release feed is a custody-status source. A Pike County court record is still needed to determine whether charges were filed, amended, dismissed, tried, or resolved by plea.
This distinction prevents a common error. Release is not the same as dismissal or acquittal. Bond is not a sentence. A charge on the release card is not necessarily the final filed count. If the arrest is recent, allow for filing and update time, then search the correct court using the booking date and agency as matching clues.
Booking Logs and Recent Arrests
The Pike County Sheriff's Office publishes both current inmates and recent releases through its OCV-backed system. The current interface uses a keyword search and date-oriented feed. Its default configuration displays a limited set of entries, with more feed content available. No official refresh schedule, export tool, booking-number-only tab, or custody filter was published.
The official sheriff web-app manifest documents the current and released feeds along with news, alerts, Most Wanted, registry, tips, and community tools.
The manifest view connects the roster to the sheriff's official app system. It also shows why the app and web feed should be treated as two views of the same local source.
An absence from both lists proves little about older Pike County arrest history. The live feeds are best for current or recent custody. For an older event, contact the arresting agency, search the court trail, or review your own fingerprint-based ALEA record.
Pike's Multi-Agency Booking Volume
The Sheriff's Office called 2025 its busiest year on record. Its official report counted 970 Pike County Jail bookings. The Sheriff's Office accounted for 464. The rest included 47 Macon County, 141 Autauga County, 37 Barbour County, and 281 from other agencies such as Troy Police, Troy University Police, ALEA, Brundidge Police, and parole authorities.
Those figures show why a Pike County booking is not always a Pike County sheriff arrest. Jail custody and report custody can be split. Before requesting an incident narrative, record the agency listed on the booking card. Before treating the event as a local court case, confirm where the alleged offense occurred and which court took the filing.
The multi-agency flow also affects statewide data. Fingerprints and arrest-event details go to ALEA through criminal-justice systems, while courts report later dispositions. Reporting delay, identifiers that do not match, non-fingerprint events, and missing final dispositions can create gaps in an old record.
Pike Custody Tools Beyond Bookings
Jail communication pages serve a different task than an arrest lookup. The official Pike County inmate mail information gives the county jail mailing address and notes mail, text or email, telephone, and video options. It does not publish a final envelope format, so callers should confirm the detained person's booking identifier and current instructions before mailing.
The captured jail information is useful after custody is confirmed, but it does not add proof about a charge or conviction.
State custody is another layer. ADOC Inmate Search covers people in Alabama prison custody, not Pike County pretrial detainees. Alabama Victim Notification covers people convicted in Alabama and sentenced to ADOC, and the service required users from an earlier version to register again after its 2024 relaunch.
The notification screen marks the handoff from county booking to post-conviction state custody. It should not be used to search an untried Pike County jail case.
Arrests Are Not Convictions
An arrest record and a conviction record come from different acts. Police or the sheriff create the incident and arrest record. Pike County Jail creates a booking entry. A court record begins when a charge is filed and then records pleas, orders, judgment, and sentence. Prosecutors may decline, add, or amend charges, and a grand jury may no-bill or indict in terms that differ from the booking label.
| Arrest Record | Conviction Record |
|---|---|
| Created by the arresting agency and jail | Created and held by the court clerk |
| Shows custody and a booking allegation | Shows a finding of guilt and judgment |
| Lives with the agency and booking system | Lives in the Pike County court file and reported state systems |
| Can be followed by release or no filed charge | Can be followed by sentence, appeal, or lawful expungement action |
The full filed-charge and disposition trail belongs in Pike County criminal court cases. An eligible dismissed record may still require Alabama's statutory expungement process before it is removed from ordinary public access.
Note: A Pike County arrest is not proof of guilt, and release from jail does not establish dismissal or acquittal.
